Way to go Ben!

Background: I've been a little concerned the past few months about Ben's talking or lack there of. Today I took him to the pediatrician and she referred me to an early intervention speech program. He has maybe 20 words and no sentences, or even two words together.

Tonight:
Rich was going outside to work on the sprinklers and Ben said "Mom Go Daddy".
I was so excited I was cheering and practically crying. That is the first time he's put words together. It's amazing to me how many simple skills we take for granted.

Go Ben! Hopefully he keeps this up!

Congrats to Ben! My kids are very late talkers -- around age 2 they hardly say anything. Then they explode with words and start talking in complete sentences within a few months. I'm sure Ben will catch up too.

Oh we should chat one day! My daughter will be 3 in Nov and is now in speech therapy twice a week. It was once a week, until they recently tagged her with Apraxia. It has been great getting the additional therapy session and we've really noticed a difference since we started giving her fish oil. We're keeping our fingers crossed that we get 3 words together soon! We still get excited if we can make 2 words sorta sound like something.

Ok, I'm behind in blog reading--so glad you already talked with an EI person! Way to go Ben!! All those little milestones that kids work so hard for are worthy of major celebration!
